The IBEW Local 2032
is seeking an Administrative Assistant/Office Manager
to direct and control the daily responsibilities associated with representing its members at NYPA facilities in the Northern and Central region of New York State.
Local 2032 is a utility labor local affiliated with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, members are employed by the New York Power Authority at it's St. Lawrence FDR Power Project, the Blenheim Gilboa Pumped Storage Facility and the Frederick R. Clark Energy Center. Responsibilities
Under general supervision the Admin. Assistant will assist the Business Manager and the officers of the local with the management of the office as well as membership service at the individual sites.
Performs duties related to all correspondence and making travel arrangements.
Responsible for constructing and maintaining member files, including the processing of new member applications to the International Office and the IBEW Pension Fund.
Assists in the development of the annual budget and maintains necessary documents related to the Local's Expense and Procedures Policy.
Assists in the development of and maintains all relevant data bases related to the management of the local. Prepares and maintains all records necessary pertaining to the quarterly financial audits and annual IBEW review. Prepares and distributes minutes of various meetings held monthly. Maintains records associated with receivables and accounts payable. As well as being the primary point of contact with all members and nonmembers alike calling on the local office. Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have received a high school diploma or equivalent. A post high school education is preferred but not essential.
Two years' experience in the same or related field is required, one year of experience may be substituted with 2 years of post-high school education in the same or related field.
Qualified applicants will be self-motivated and able to manage an office environment with little or no direct supervision. They will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a fast-paced union environment. Applicants should be fluent users of both Android and IOS operating systems and proficient with the use of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Well qualified candidates will have the ability to analyze and revise operating practices, to improve office and time efficiency of all staff members.
Salaiy and benefit plan will be contingent upon the successful candidate's overall qualifications, including but not limited to skill, education and experience.
