PRINCIPAL FISCAL OFFICER / DEPUTY TREASURER
The Town of Massena Electric Department is accepting applications for the position of Principal Fiscal Officer / Deputy Treasurer. Principal Fiscal Officer is a competitive position within Civil Service. This is a Provisional Appointment. The successful applicant will need to take a Civil Service examination and score within the top three interested candidates in order to be permanently appointed.
Massena Electric has a residency requirement within one year of successful completion of civil service examination. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or a closely related field and 2 years of paid full time experience in accounting or finance; Associate's degree in accounting, business administration or a closely related field and 4 years of paid full time experience in accounting or finance; or High school equivalency diploma or possession of an Individual Education Plan diploma and 6 years of full time paid experience in accounting or finance.
One-year of supervisory experience required.
Ideal candidate will also have:
•Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Familiarity with payroll and human resource activities
•Prior experience planning and supervising the work of others
•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
•Experience with billing/customer service software along with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Salary range: $57,000 - $69,000
