Tutor/Advocate Education Specialist:
The Research Foundation of SUNY, a private, not-for-profit Corporation, seeks applicants for a 20 hour per week/ 38 week position during the academic year working in the Gouverneur Central School District. The Education Specialist determines the needs of the students and implements services to assist the student with graduation and college/workforce entry. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: tutoring/monitoring academic progress of students, coordinating tutor project at school, developing and supervising mentored work activities, organizing enrichment activities, college visits and community service. Attending professional development meetings.
A minimum of Bachelor's degree is required. A Master's degree is preferred. Experience assisting students required. A valid New York State Driver License is required.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
